(no subject)
Mar. 20th, 2014 11:08 amStarting to think it might be time to get a new phone. I love the one I have, because it fits in the "it's outdated but does all the things I need and nothing I don't" niche, but the battery life has been getting steady worse and it's hard to make one charge last all day. Putting in a replacement battery helped for a short while, but now it's back to how it was.
But I also don't know much about phones. I'm mildly phone phobic and the contract I have now is data only because I have no need of calls. I don't think of my phone as a phone but a portable internet connection. And I'd want something with a large screen like this one. Too many phones have tiny ones, but when you're like me and care more about viewing websites, then you need size.
And I don't know if you can take the sim card from this one and put it into a new phone? I hope so. I don't want to be stuck with a contact full of minutes and texts I'll never use and a rubbish data allowance as an afterthought.

meme tiems
Mar. 20th, 2014 06:20 pm(a repost because I have a thread now. Threads are cool.)

I always have moments in these memes when I go "Oh crap, why are they always so fandom centric! I don't know what my fandoms are and everyone else likes stuff I've never seen!" But I'm jumping in because I realised... so what? I know plenty of people who are in fandoms I'm not. I'm cool with this! That's how you find new things to enjoy!
That reminds me, I need to set aside some time to watch Sleepy Hollow someday since I've heard enough talk to convince me I will like it. (protip: if a thing has siblings and feels I will be happy.) Maybe once I'm done with my ridiculously belated Sarah Jane Adventures marathon.

the approach of camp
Mar. 20th, 2014 07:17 pm(though before I go any further I want it to be known that
rantinan is an amazing person who deserves many hugs)
Camp is so close now. I've not been getting into it much so far, not as much as I have for NaNo. But I can feel it edging closer and I've been poking the boards and I'm starting to get excited!
I'm sticking with my original plan of writing as much MFS as I can, but I'm setting my goal to 25K or a half-NaNo. I think that's challenging without overwhelming. There may be some London meets - I hope so, I haven't been in too long. I've also requested everyone who left a username for a cabin, but I don't think I'll mind too much if I get random people. I'm kind of interested to see who I meet.
I can't actually go camping for real (I don't even like camping...) but that has not stopped me entertaining the thought of turning the spare room into an EPIC BLANKET FORT.
